Meet The Team

At the Goods Shed, we may have a small team of staff, but what we lack in size we make up for in passion, warmth, and community spirit. Whether you're visiting for the first time or a familiar face, you'll always be greeted with a smile. Drop in and say hello!

Volunteers

We are incredibly lucky to have a large and dedicated team of volunteers - the beating heart of The Goods Shed. They work tirelessly across a range of roles, including:

  • Maintaining our garden and outdoor spaces

  • Preparing food and homemade goods for the café

  • Supporting events and day-to-day activities

  • Offering invaluable skills and time to keep the site thriving

The Goods Shed simply wouldn't be what it is today without them.

Trustees

Our Board of Trustees brings together a wealth of experience - from heritage and construction to hospitality, finance, fundraising, and community development. Some have been with us since the very beginning of the restoration journey, helping to shape and support the vision of The Goods Shed. They work closely with staff to guide the charity's mission and ensure its long-term sustainability.

  • Yvonne Rodgers, previously Director of Barnardos Cymru, is responsible for all community engagement matters and currently serves as Chair.

  • Richard Roper, Trust Secretary, has a wealth of project management experience, having previously worked as a project manager for Network Rail.

  • Martin Doe, Treasurer, is responsible for the Trust’s financial and legal matters. He was previously a solicitor and Treasurer of a local charitable railway heritage company. He is the founder of the Howardian Local Nature Reserve.

  • George Parker, Technical Officer, was previously Managing Director of a local construction company. He advises the Trust on the planning and execution of capital works undertaken by consultants and contractors.

  • Katy Hodge, Operations Manager at Cegin y Bobl, has recently been recruited as a Trustee. She designed, implemented and managed the award-winning Cook24 project at Coleg Sir Gâr, which has now transitioned into the independent organisation Cegin y Bobl, delivering community cooking programmes.

  • Charles Watson is an active member of several local volunteer groups and was involved with “Communities First” from its inception. He is also Deputy Chair of the Llanelli Disabled Drivers Action Group. He advises the Trust on accessibility issues.

  • John Ellis, is Senior Partner of a local IT, security and business continuity planning company. He has over 40 years of IT and business-related experience. He has previously worked with two charities: Worthing Soup Kitchen (WSK) and the Institution of Analysts and Programmers (IAP).
